METRONEX ACADEMY WILAYAH SARAWAK

Metronex Academy (operated under MetroneX Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd) is a key training provider in Sarawak, particularly known for its technical programs that align with the requirements of the Electrical Inspectorate Unit (EIU) Sarawak.

Based at the CIDB Malaysia Complex in Kuching, they offer specialized competency training for individuals looking to enter the electrical and business sectors.

Electrical Programs: Wireman G1 & G2

These programs are designed to certify electricians under the Sarawak Electricity Ordinance. The primary goal is to prepare students for the EIU competency examinations.

Wireman Grade 2 (G2) – Single Phase

This is the entry-level certification for electricians in Sarawak.

Focus: Installation, testing, and maintenance of single-phase wiring systems (typically for residential and small commercial buildings).

Core Modules: Electricity Ordinance & Rules (EOER).

Basic Ohm’s Law and Electrical Safety.

Earthing systems and protective devices.

Practical wiring for lighting and power circuits.

Outcome: Graduates are authorized to install and supervise single-phase electrical systems.

Wireman Grade 1 (G1)- THREE PHASE

This is an advanced level for those who already understand single-phase systems or are looking to work on industrial/larger commercial projects.

Focus: Installation and supervision of both single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.

Core Modules:

Three-phase power distribution and motor starting circuits.

Cable sizing and advanced protection devices.

Interpretation of complex electrical diagrams.

Practical construction of three-phase installations.

Outcome: Allows the holder to supervise larger electrical installations and acts as a prerequisite for higher certifications like "Chargeman."

Business Management Program

Metronex integrates Business Management into its academy offerings, often focusing on Skilltechpreneurship. This is designed to bridge the gap between being a technical worker and owning a business.

Target Audience: Technical students (like Wiremen) who want to start their own contracting firms, or individuals entering administrative roles in the construction/engineering industry.

Key Areas of Study:

Project Management: Understanding the lifecycle of a construction or electrical project.

Entrepreneurship: Financial literacy, bidding for contracts, and business registration in Sarawak.
